Reviving The American Dream: The First Secret to Success for 2025 & Beyond

Over the last few years, I’ve had an opportunity to travel across America. I’ve been to 39 different states, each the size of a large European Country. I’ve been to the northern, southern, eastern, and western parts of the United States, and I’ve come to the stark realization that for many Americans, Immigrants, and Refugees living here today, the American Dream is more of a fable than a reality. For far too many Americans, The American Dream is unattainable. It’s something they can only dream about or fathom when the mounting pressures of life aren’t crushing them underfoot, leading to stress, anxiety, depression, and physical and mental health issues. Many of the Americans I spoke to and interviewed in my travels admitted that the term The American Dream is somewhat antiquated and not commonly used outside of motivational circles, but then I discovered something amazing.

The American Dream is alive and well for those who believe and can recognize what it is, how it works, and how it’s attainable for anyone with a knowledge and understanding of the secrets to success in America for 2025 & beyond. The American Dream is especially attainable for those with an awareness of the first secret to success.

Continue reading, and I’ll quickly share with you what the American Dream Is, What the American Dream is not, from where the concept of an American Dream first became prominent, and How to Attain the American Dream. As a bonus, I’ll even include the first secret to success for 2025 & beyond.

Let’s get started.

What is the American Dream

For many years, the American Dream was portrayed as having a good education, a nice secure job, a pension, and a suburban family living in a safe community with a dog or pet, an automobile, a few luxuries, and enough money for an occasional vacation. However, that has rarely been the most desired American Dream of many Americans. Many people have grown disgruntled after realizing that, while that’s the Dream they were sold, it’s not the American Dream they want, desire, or have the confidence that they can attain. They just want to be free to live, create, and enjoy the life they want and desire on their own terms, unobstructed.  

Many economists and news organizations claim that we have a problem. They’re exactly right. The American Dream that you have been sold and led to believe you should want and desire, is not necessarily an American Dream that leads to long-term success or happiness.

But What Happened?

Well, America was founded on the belief that all men are created equal, and that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights. Among those are the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That was written by Thomas Jefferson in 1776 as a preamble to the United States Declaration of Independence. It was the first instance of an American Dream written into US History, as before, there was no United States of America. However, foreigners have long come to the Americas in hopes of being able to live, create, and enjoy the lives they wanted and desired on their own terms without obstruction.

However, as life would have it, attaining the American Dream would never come easy or be without obstruction. In fact, Thomas Jefferson and all 56 Signers of The Declaration of Independence were charged with treason. They had to fight for their lives and their personal freedom. A war ensued, five were captured and tortured by the British, nine died of wounds sustained during the Revolution, two lost their sons in the fighting, many lost families, one lost a wife, others lost their property, and a few died destitute and penniless.   

However, The United States of America was born in 1776 on the belief that all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

That was, is, and has always been the American Dream.

There was never any mention of a free education, a good job, or a middle-class home with a white picket fence and a dog until some years later. Our founding Fathers never mentioned the word automobile. But, under the Declaration of Independence, every man was destined the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, i.e., the American Dream.

So, What Happened Next?

In the 1930s, the American Dream was usurped and expanded to a new belief that life should be better, richer, and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability and achievement. The vision of a white picket fence and a good community was soon sold to ambitious Americans. Before long, the American Dream was dying. It was waning and fading as men and women who pursued and achieved the Dream sold to them soon realized that this new American Dream, based on consumerism and materialistic values, didn’t provide the freedom, lasting success, or happiness they had hoped for. Instead, they found themselves miserable, working long hours, consuming more and more debt for material goods, and conforming to community standards and norms that didn’t bring happiness.

They were distraught, their kids were discouraged, and after a few decades, the cost associated with attaining the American Dream that many Americans neither wanted nor desired was so high that most people lost interest. Some just totally gave up and quit. Those who didn’t fully lose interest or give up and quit found more rewarding and valuable things to pursue, and now, a person like you, you’re here searching and wondering if the American Dream is dead, achievable, or even worth prioritizing and pursuing, and the answer is, yes; yes, it is. The American Dream is worth pursuing. You must pursue and fight for the life you want and desire.

Pursuing your Dream is a test of faith and providence.

The American Dream is alive and well, but only for those who believe and can recognize what it is, how it works, and how it’s attainable for anyone with a knowledge and understanding of the secrets to success in America for 2025 & beyond. It’s especially attainable for those with an awareness of the first secret to success.

But now that you know where it started and how we went off course, I’ll quickly share with you what the American Dream is in modern terms, quickly and simply stated.

What is The American Dream Quickly & Simply Stated?

The American Dream, quickly and simply stated, is your ability to live, create, and enjoy the life you want and desire on your own terms without being harassed or obstructed as long as you don’t violate, trample upon, or disrespect the rights of others. The American Dream closely relates to what the founding fathers intended when they wrote, signed, and ratified the US Declaration of Independence. It’s also what they intended in writing and stating, “that to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” The government is, of the people, by the people, and protective of the individuals’ right to unobstructed freedom.

The idea is that you and I, and our progeny, would be free to live, create, and enjoy the life we want and desire on our own terms without being harassed or obstructed as long as we don’t violate, trample upon, or disrespect the rights and freedoms of others. To ensure our liberties and freedoms, as stated by the founding fathers, we would go on to establish non-oppressive and supportive governments to ensure everyone’s right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness is observed and protected. And if the government itself becomes overly obstructive or destructive to our individual rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, “it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute a new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to affect their Safety and Happiness.” That’s a direct quote from the founding fathers.

So, there you have it. The American Dream, quickly and simply stated, is your ability to live, create, and enjoy the life you want and desire on your own terms without being harassed or obstructed by others, as long as you don’t violate, trample upon, or disrespect their rights and freedoms or the rights and freedoms of other people.

How Do We Attain the American Dream in 2025 & Beyond

There’s no secret to attaining the American Dream, as the secrets have always been known, compiled, and shared with others in various ways. It’s even possible that you’ve seen and heard a few of the secrets or had them shared with you, but for some reason, you never fully grasped the value of the secret, or maybe no one articulated to you how important the secret was or showed you how to practically apply the secret in your life. For this reason, I won’t bombard you with all the secrets today in one article, but I’ll share with you the first secret to success for attaining the American Dream in 2025 & beyond. It’s also the first step in the powerhouse process to making the rest of your life the best. 

The first secret to success is knowing what you want and desire from life. Knowing what you want is very important for attaining the American Dream. And simply put, The American Dream is your ability to live, create, and enjoy the life you want and desire on your own terms without being harassed or obstructed by governments and other individuals, as long as you don’t violate, trample upon, or disrespect the rights and freedoms of others.

It’s your right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as envisioned by the founding fathers of the greatest country on earth. Now, some may feel that’s a vague answer, and you may be clueless as to what the American Dream is for you. And well, the American Dream is not for me, the state, the government, your pastors, teachers, imams, religious scholars, politicians, parents, grandparents, or anyone else to clearly decide and articulate for you. That is, unless you’re an NPC (Non-Player Character) or you desire a life of miserable servitude.

It’s up to you to take the liberty to decide and determine what your American Dream will be.
